Create a New Map
Start capturing ideas by naming the central topic and building
a unique mind map
New Default Map
When you click "Default Map", new map is opened with a central
topic in the center of the screen. If you have opened a map previously, it is minimized
in a tab at the bottom of the application window, and the new map is opened in another
tab.
New Map from Existing Map
When "From Existing Map"option is selected, a pop-up window appears
allowing you to choose the location of the existent map to be opened as new map.
The chosen map is opened and is treated as a new map. If you have opened a map previously,
it is minimized in a tab at the bottom of the application window, and the new map
is opened in another tab.
New Map from Template or Style
When "From Template or Style" option is selected, a pop-up window
appears showing a list of all the available templates and styles you can choose
from, as shown in the figure below. There are two categories under "Map Templates"
tab: Business and Private Map Templates. You can also choose a map style to be applied
to the map.
Open Map
"Open" appears under the "Seavus DropMind™ Button". When
you click on it, a pop-up window appears where you chooses the location from where
an already saved map will be opened. Click on "Open" button form pop-up window in
order to open the selected map. If you click on the "Cancel" button in the pop-up
window, nothing happens. Only .dmm file format is supported. When you go over "Open",
the recently used (created and opened) maps will be shown with their names. The
limit is showing up to 10 maps in "Recent Maps".
Import
"Import" appears under the "Seavus DropMind™ Button". Maps
from Mindjet's MindManager®, XMind, FreeMind and Word Outline document can be
imported inside Seavus DropMind™.
Import from Mindjet MindManager®
When clicked on "Mindjet MindManager® Map", a pop-up window
appears allowing you to choose the location of the map to be imported .mmap and
.mmat file formats are supported. When you click "Open" button, the chosen map is
imported and shown inside the application. When you click "Cancel" button, nothing
happens, the map is not imported. The elements that are included in MindManager®
which our application doesn't support are not imported (ex. images are not imported).
Icons used in MindManager® are matched and replaced in the map with our icons.
Note: Icons for task completing will not be imported. Only "Task done" icon will
be replaced with our icon. Only the flags icons that we support will be imported,
the others will not be imported.
Import from XMind
When you click on this option a pop-up window will appear allowing you to choose
the location of the XMind map which you want to import in Seavus DropMind™.
The .xmind file type is supported.
Import from FreeMind
With this option you can create a map based on a map created with FreeMind. A pop-up
window will appear allowing you to choose the location of the FreeMind map. The
.mm file type is supported.
Import Word Outline Document
You can create a map base on a Word Outline document. Click on the import option
and select the location of the Word Outline document. A new map will be created
based on the following logic: Headers, Bullets, Numbering, will be converted to
topics. Name of Word file = Central topic, Headers = Main topics, Subheaders = Subtopics,
Text = Note.
Save Map
"Save" appears under the "Seavus DropMind™ Button". This submenu contains
4 options: "Save", "Save As", "Save As Template" and "Save All".
Save
When you click "Save", a pop-up window appears where you choose the location
where to save the map and write in the "File Name" field the name under which you
wish the map to be saved. Supported file format is .dmm. After you click "Save"
button, the map is saved on the chosen location under the written name; you are
back on the current map. If you click "Cancel" button from pop-up window, the map
is not saved, you are back on the current map. After you saved a map, whenever you
work on it and click "Save", the map is automatically saved; the pop-up window is
not shown.
Save As
When you click "Save As", and the map is already saved, the same procedure
exists as saving a completely new map. Supported file format is .dmm.
Save As Template
When you click "Save As Template", and the map is already saved, the same
procedure exists as saving a completely new map. Supported file format is .dmm.
After saving the map as a template, it can be used as base model for creating new
maps.
Save All
When you click "Save All", all currently opened maps are to be saved. If
there are saved maps without changes, there stayed as they are. If there are already
saved maps that have been modified, a pop-up window appears asking whether you want
to save the map changes. Three options exist: "Save", "Discard" and "Cancel". If
you click "Save" button, the map is saved with the newest changes, the pop-up window
is closed. If you click "Discard" button, the latest map changes are not saved,
the pop-up window is closed. If you click "Cancel" button nothing happens, the pop-up
is closed. If there are unsaved maps, a pop-up window appears asking whether you
want to save the map. Three options exist: "Save", "Discard" and "Cancel". If you
click the "Save" button, the pop-up window for saving a new map appears, the previous
pop-up window is closed. You choose a location where to save the map and the map
name. If you click "Discard" button, the map is not saved, the map is closed. If
this is the last map, the application is closed too. If you click "Cancel" button
nothing happens, the pop-up window is closed.
Print Map
"Print" appears under the "Seavus DropMind™ Button". This submenu contains
three options: "Print", "Print Preview" and "Page Setup". You use the "Print" options
to select the printer, page range and number of copies.
Print
You click on the "Seavus DropMind™ Button", go to "Print" and click the "Print"
option. A 'Print' dialog pops-up where you specify the printer, page range and number
of copies. You click 'Print' button to print the map, or click 'Cancel' button to
close the window.
Print Preview
The "Print Preview" option shows you how the map will look like when printed
according to the "Print" and "Page Setup" settings you have selected. You click
on the "Seavus DropMind™ Button", go to 'Print' and click the "Print Preview"
option. A new window appears. If you chose to print the map on more than one pages
you can view the individual pages here using the "Next Page" and "Previous Page"
buttons to step through them. You can use the "Zoom In" and "Zoom Out" commands
to see more or less detail. There are no zoom limitations (minimum and maximum).
When you are ready to print, click the "Print" button, or click "Page Setup" to
modify the page options. "Page Setup" pop-up window appears inside this window.
The map is displayed in the "Print Preview" window until you close it by clicking
on the "Close Print Preview" button.
Page Setup
The "Page Setup" option control the map's orientation, page margins, headers
and footers, border and more. Other options such as Print Range, Copies and Scaling
(multiple pages) are set in the "Print" dialog. "Page Setup" pop-up window has two
tabs: "Page" and "Margins".
In the "Page" tab user can adjust:
- Map orientation (Portrait or Landscape);
- Scaling (Map zoom shown in % or
printing the map on more pages);
- E-mails;
- The paper size to use and
resolution.
In the "Margins" tab you can set:
- The page margins (margin units used are set by the user).
To view or change the page setup you click the "Seavus DropMind™ Button",
go to "Print" and click "Page Setup". A pop-up window appears where you choose the
options you want to use for printing. You click "Print" to print the map or "Preview"
to verify the Page Setup. These settings are saved with the map so the next time
you print the same map, the same settings will be applied.
Integration
This set of options enables the integration between the desktop and web version
of Seavus DropMind™. From here you can upload maps created in the desktop
version to the web version and you can download uploaded maps back to the desktop
version. It also enables you to synchronize the desktop Seavus DropMind™ maps
with the web version Seavus DropMind™ maps. In order to use this set of options
you will have to posses Seavus DropMind™ web account.
Download Map
With this option you can download previously uploaded maps to the web version of
Seavus DropMind™ back to the desktop version of Seavus DropMind™. When
you click on it a login window will appear in which you have to enter your user
name and password for the web account. You will have to login only once. When you
are logged in with your use name and password you can choose a web map which you
want to download to your desktop application.
Upload Map
You can upload maps created with the desktop application to your Seavus DropMind™
web account. A prompt window will appear asking you to login to your web account
(if you have not already logged in). Then you can choose a map created with the
desktop version which you want to upload to your web account. The map will be uploaded
to the "My Desktop Map" folder on your web account and it will be stored locally
in "C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\My Documents\DropMind\My maps".
Synchronize Maps
The locally saved maps which are uploaded on your web account can be synchronized.
Every time when you updated a locally saved map you can synchronize it with your
desktop map stored on your web account. This enables you to update the changes which
you did on your locally stored map. With this option your desktop map stored on
your web account will be always updated with the changes you have made to your locally
stored map.
Send Map
By clicking on the "Send", the currently opened map can be send as an email
attachment with the default email client to the desired recipient.
Export Map
"Export" appears under the "Seavus DropMind™ Button". This submenu
contains eight options: "PDF Document", "Image", "Rich Text Document", "PowerPoint
Presentation", "HTML", "FreeMind Map", "Word Document" and "XML Document".
Export Map as PDF Document
When you click on "PDF Document", a pop-up window appears asking you to set
the .pdf export options - page size, graphic and orientation; After setting them,
you click "OK" button, a new pop-up window appears asking you to choose the destination
where the map as PDF document to be exported and write name under which to be saved.
If you click "Cancel" button, nothing happens, the map is not exported, and the
pop-up window is closed.
Export Map as Image
When you click on "Image", a pop-up window appears asking you to choose the
destination where the file to be exported and write name under which to be saved.
When exporting as image, .jpg file format is supported. After user chooses the name
and location where the exported map as image to be saved, a pop-up window appears
asking you to set the image export settings. After setting them, you click "OK"
button and the map is exported as image.
Export Map as RTF (Rich Text Format)
When you click on "Rich Text Document", a pop-up window appears asking you
to choose the destination where the file is going to be exported and write name
under which to be saved. When exporting as Word Document, .rtf file format is supported.
The map will be exported as Word outline document. The central topic shall be title,
main topics heading 1 and so on, as shown in the example below.
Export Map as PowerPoint Presentation
This option enables you to export your map as a "PowerPoint Presentation".
When you export the map as .ppt, the slides from the map are shown by the following
logic:
1. First slide: Central Topic as Presentation title;
2. Second slide: Central topic as title, all main topics listed
in bulleted list starting from the upper right topic going clock-wise;
3. Continue with slide with level 1 node as title and all its
children as bulleted list. First the upper sub-nodes are shown until the end, then
those that are down;
4. If there are floating topics, they are shown alone on separate
slides after these slides. They always came at the end.
Export Map as HTML
Your map will be saved as HTML page with this option. A pop-up window will appear
asking you to choose the location to which the map will be exported. The HTML page
will have the name of the map as a title. On the left side will be listed the topics
with their subtopics. In the central area of the page an image of the map will be
shown and below the topics will be listed as outline code.
Export Map as FreeMind Map
Your map will be saved as "FreeMind document (.mm)" with this option. A pop-up
window will appear asking you to choose the location to which the map will be exported.
The FreeMind document will have the name of the map as a title..
Export Map as Word Document
When you click on "Word Document", a pop-up window appears asking you to
choose the destination where the file is going to be exported and write name under
which to be saved. When exporting as Word Document, .doc file format is supported.
Map topics will be converted to Headers, Bullets, Numbering. Name of Word file =
Central topic, Headers = Main topics, Subheaders = Subtopics, Text = Note.
Export Map as XML Document
Your map will be saved as "XML page" with this option. A pop-up window will
appear asking you to choose the location to which the map will be exported. The
XML page will have the name of the map as a title. On the left side will be listed
the topics with their subtopics. In the central area of the page an image of the
map will be shown and below the topics will be listed as outline code.
Close Map
"Close" appears under the "Seavus DropMind™ Button". When you click
it, if there aren't any map modifications and the map is already saved, the map
is closed. You stay in the application. When you close the map without saving the
map or the map modifications, a pop-up window appears asking whether you would like
to save the map. Three options are available: "Save", "Discard" and "Cancel". If
you click "Save" button, the same pop-up window for saving maps appear if the map
is not previously saved; if it is already saved, the map is saved with the new modifications
and the map is closed. If there is more than one map, only the active map is closed.
If you click "Discard" button the map or the map changes are not saved and the map
is closed. If there is more than one map, only the active map is closed. If you
click "Cancel" button nothing happens.
Seavus DropMind™ Options
Spell Checker
You set the language here. A drop-down list with available languages exists, as
shown on the figure below. You choose the language you want to be used for the map
text.
Graphical User interface
Here you set the interface of the application. You can set the "Windows style" by
choosing the most suitable option from a drop-down list. You choose the "Color theme"
to be used in the application from a drop-down list of available options. As well
as, you choose the "Library Tab Position" from a drop-down list to be applied to
the library tabs appearing as a right menu. You can also localize Seavus DropMind™
with "Language Support" option. Seavus DropMind™ is available in English,
Japanese, French, German and Spanish.
Shortcuts
From here you can set the shortcuts for the most common used actions in Seavus DropMind™
as the creation of sub-topic or sibling topic. The table below shows the available
shortcuts found in this window.
Proxy Settings
This menu enables you to choose the way your application connects to the Internet.
The default marked option is "Detect Proxy Automatically". If you leave this option
marked the application will copy the proxy settings set in Internet Explorer. You
can also set the proxy settings manually from here. The proxy settings are needed
for the Integration options to function properly. You must have Internet access
to use the Integration options and to properly activate the application.
Activate
When you click on the "Activate" option, the activation window will appear.
Here you can enter the Registration code and to change your License type. You can
enter New Key for activation, update an existing Activation key or Reactivate the
application with an existing key.

This window contains information which you should provide when you contact the customer
support service.
Exit Seavus DropMind™
When you try to exit the application without saving the map or the map modifications
you have made, a pop-up window appears, asking whether you would like to save the
map. Three options are available: "Save", "Discard" and "Cancel". If there is more
than one map, the pop-up window with the available options is shown for all the
maps that are not saved or their modifications are not saved. If you click "Save"
button, the same pop-up window for saving maps appear if the map is not previously
saved; if it is already saved, the map is saved with the new modifications and the
application is closed. If there is more than one map, the active map is closed and
a new pop-up window with the options appears for the next map and so on until the
last map. If you click "Discard" button, the map or the map changes are not saved
and the application is closed. If there is more than one map, only the active map
is closed and a new pop-up window with the options appears for the next map and
so on until the last map. If you click "Cancel" button nothing happens.
Clipboard Group
This group allows you to cut, copy, and paste. These options can be applied to topics
and map branches. When you paste a cut or copied text, if none topic is selected,
a new topic with the pasted text will be inserted where the placement holder is.
The inserted topic will be a floating topic. When some topic is selected, a new
child topic with the pasted text inside will be inserted. Also, "Format Painter"
function is found here. This function is used to apply topic, relationship and boundary
formatting. In case with topics, topic fill color, topic border color, topic shape
and text color are formatted. You select the element which formatting you want to
use, click on this button, the cursor is changed and select another element from
the same category which is formatted as the first one.
Insert Group
From the "Insert" group, you can insert topics, relationships, boundaries,
callouts, floating topics, parent topics, key topics.

Topic Elements Group
From the "Topic Elements" Group you can add notes, hyperlinks, attachments,
icons and images. Moreover, you can insert date&time, alerts and mark the topic
as a task with adding the task info.

Editing Group
From here you can find and replace text used inside topic, check the spelling to
correct mistakes and remove topics, images icons and etc, that were added on the
map.

Insert Topics
Insert as many sibling topics, sub-topics, parent topics floating topics as you
want - anywhere in your mind map.
- Parent topics, child topics and floating topics are differentiated from each other
by shape, colour and size. They provide your mind maps with a distinctively visual
style;
- Topic size adjusts automatically as you enter text.
Insert Sibling Topic
Sibling topic refers to a same level topic. You can add as much sibling topics as
you want. You cannot add sibling topic to the Central Topic and to floating topics.
By clicking on "Sibling Topic" button from menu, new sibling topic of the
selected topic is added. You can insert sibling topic from the menu, contextual
menu and keyboard shortcut in this case with "Insert" key. Whenever a sibling topic
is added, you can immediately start writing text inside. There is no limit on characters
added in topics.
Insert Subtopic
By clicking on "Subtopic" button from menu, new child topic of the selected
topic is added. You can add as much subtopics as you want. This can be done from
the menu, contextual menu and keyboard shortcut in this case with 'Enter' key. Whenever
a subtopic is added, you can immediately start writing text inside. There is no
limit on characters added in topics.
Insert Parent Topic
By clicking on "Parent Topic" button, a parent topic is put between the selected
topic and the previous topic which was connected to the selected topic.
Insert Floating topic
This menu button allows you to add a topic in the map that is floating, meaning
it has no relationship to topics under the Central Topic. It has the same properties
as any other topic, except that a sibling topic can not be added from floating topic.
When added from menu, the mouse pointer changes, and floating topic is added wherever
you click on the map space. A floating topic can be created also on a double click
on an empty map space, where it will be placed. And also, if none topic is selected,
when you start writing some text, a floating topic will be added where the placement
holder is.
Floating topic can have subtopics and callouts. Floating topics can be moved on
the map space. If you want, you can attach the floating topic somewhere in the map,
so that it will no longer be a floating topic. Whenever a floating topic is added,
you can immediately start writing text inside. There is no limit on characters added
in topics.
Key Topic
Key topic is a unique node that is specially differentiated from the other nodes.
Once the node is selected as a key topic, its border will become 'bolder' than the
other node's borders. The key nodes are the key points in the map. By making a node
into a key node, the user draws the attention on to the topic. That way he can easily
orientate in the map. Every node can be made in to a key node by selecting it and
clicking on the 'Key topic" function. Clicking again on the same button will make
the node ordinary.
Insert Callout
Callout topic is a descriptive topic and has the same properties as any other topic.
It can be added to any topic except the Central Topic. By default, it is placed
above the selected topic. Also, you can add callout to external relationships when
it is placed in the centre of the relationship. Whenever a callout is added, you
can immediately start writing text inside. There is limit on characters added in
topics.
Insert Relationship
Associate different topics by adding external relationships, formatted in any way
you want, that give logical flow to your key ideas.
Insert Boundary
Highlight and group a family of mind mapping topics by inserting boundaries with
desired format. Cluster information in a logical and organized way. This helps improve
your memory and visual thinking skills.
Topic Elements Group
From the "Topic Elements" Group you can add notes, hyperlinks, attachments,
icons, images and date&time.

Topic Elements
Add different elements to topics to gain maximum benefits of consolidating information
from multiple sources and store data in a single place.
Notes
Unlock the full potential of your brain and add detailed topic information by adding
Notes to a topic. You can add notes to any topic. Icon for notes is placed inside
topics. There can be only one note per topic.
You add notes by clicking on the "Notes" button from menu. A right-menu window
appears with formatting options where you can add notes. Text in notes can be formatted
by font family, font size, text color and highlight color. There is no limit for
characters in notes, but notes tooltip is limited. If more characters are added
a scroll bar appears. By scrolling you see the rest of the notes. In notes section
from menu you delete topics simply by using standard keyboard actions. By clicking
on "x" button in notes window, it will be closed; written notes will be saved. On
mouse over the notes icon in topics, a tooltip appears showing the text inside notes.
When you delete notes from the notes, automatically the notes icon from the selected
topic is removed indicating that there are no notes.
Hyperlink
Link your thoughts by adding hyperlinks to external information:
- Files on your computer;
- Web sites and images;
- E-mails;
- Anything
you need to connect.
One hyperlink per topic can be added. You can add hyperlink by clicking on the "Hyperlink"
button from menu. A pop-up window appears asking you to specify the location of
the file, folder, URL or e-mail address which you want to insert, as shown on the
figure below. You click "Ok" button to add the hyperlink to the selected topic,
or "Cancel" button not to apply it. After inserting hyperlink, a hyperlink icon
is shown inside topics. On mouse over the hyperlink icon a tooltip is shown, displaying
the chosen destination. On icon click, the file, URL, folder or e-mail stated in
hyperlink is opened.
When you click to add E-mail as hyperlink, you write the e-mail address and e-mail
subject. When you click on this hyperlink in topic, new e-mail message is opened
with the e-mail address and subject previously written.
When you click hyperlink to map option, you will be prompted to log into your web
Seavus DropMind™ account. You can choose from your desktop maps or public
maps. When select the map from your web account a direct link will be added to the
topic, pointing to the map which you chose from your web account.
Attach
By clicking on the "Attach" option when a topic is selected, you can add
attachment to the selected topic. You can attach any type of file to the topic.
You can remove the attachment from the menu or open the "Manage attachment" window.
The "Manage attachment" option displays a window in which you can managed the attached
files on the topic. You can open them; rename them, save them locally on your PC,
check their size and the date of modification.
Topic Icon
Use our library to create, read, think over, and easily remember mind maps. You
can choose from 5 predefined categories:
- Numbers;
- Signs;
- Smileys;
- Office;
- Other
There are changeable icon markers which when added in topic and if clicked, the
icon is appropriately changed with the next icon marker in the group. The single
icons cannot be changed on click. When you click the added single icon in the selected
topic from icon library, it will be removed from the topic. Icon markers are not
removed in this way. Icons are accessed on menu click on "Icon" button - the icons
library is opened as right menu. You cannot use the same icon in the same topic
twice. There is no limit in number of icons per topic.
Image
Decorate your maps by adding images to topics. You can choose the desired image
from our image library. By clicking on "Image" button from menu, a drop-down
list wit two options is shown - "Insert Image from Library" and "Insert Image from
File". When you click directly on "Image" button or on "Insert Image from Library"
option in the drop-down menu under "Image" button.
You can choose image from our image library. Image with predefined size by default
will be put in front of the text in topics. Only one image per topic can be added.
Images are also resizable. When you click on an image, eight dots on image appear
which by dragging resize the image. You can also add your own images to the image
library.
You can insert images from file also. When you click on "Insert image from file"
option in the drop-down menu under "Image" button, a pop-up window appears asking
you to choose the destination from where the image to be inserted. Supported image
formats are: .svg, .svgz. .png, .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg. You click the '"Open" button,
the image is inserted in your "My Imported Images" library. If you click "Cancel"
button image is not inserted. Only one image per topic can be added.
Date&Time
You can add date and time to the topics. When you click on the Date&Time button
a calendar will appear which allows you to chose the date and time that you wish
to apply to the topic.
Alerts
Insert alert to the selected topic to remind you that you have important event,
meeting or action to performand. Afterwards you can set recurrences on daily, weekly,
monthly, yearly bases.
Task Info
Enter task information to the appropriate topic and determine the task priorities.
you can define: start date, finish date, Duration, Priority, % complete, Resources,
as shown below. You can also check whether you want task information to be shown,
or if you want to see the years in Task information dates.
Editing
From here you can find and replace text used inside topic, check the spelling to
correct mistakes and remove topics, images icons and etc.. that were added on the
map.
Find
You can find and replace text used inside topics. To quickly search for every occurrence
of a specific word or phrase you click the "Find" drop-down menu and click
"Find". A pop-up window for find and replace appears.
In the "Find" filed you type the text that you want to search. To find each appearance
of a word or phrase please click "Find Next" button. To find all instances of a
specific word or phrase, please click "Find All" button. If found, the words or
phrases are selected.
You can replace a word or phrase with another one. Clicks "Replace" tab. In the
"Find" field, the text for replacement is shown. In the "Replace" field, type the
replacement text. To replace an occurrence of the text, click "Replace" button.
After you clicked "Replace", finding/replacing is moved to the next occurrence of
the text. To replace all occurrences of the text, click "Replace All" button.
Advanced search is a powerful built in search engine in desktop DropMind. With this
option you can search trough:
1. "Search selection" with two checkboxes:
- First "Under active" box is option for searching only in selected topic and his
sub tree;
- Second "In selection" box is option for searching only in selected
selection (if you have multiply selections).
2. Row "Search location" has pull down selection menu with the next choices:
- "Current map" - search only in the Current opened map;
- "All opened maps"
- search in all opened maps;
- "My maps" - searches in folder MyDocuments/My maps/;
3. "Search in" -searches in:
- "Topic text"
- "Notes"
- "Attachments"
- "Hyperlinks"
4. "Search word" - searches for exact word;
5. "Exact phrase" - searches for complete phrase;
6. "Topic type" - has pull down selection:
- "All types" - default, searches in all topics;
- "Main topics" - Searches
only in Main topics;
- "Topics" - searches only in topics, but not in floating
topics and callouts;
- "Floating" - Searches only in floating topics;
-
"Callouts" - searches only in callouts.
7. Then "Search" button;
8. Next is list of results:
- This is tree which shows this results in a list (this is clickable);
- If
search is on multiply maps then under every map is results of that map;
- Searched
word is highlighted in the result;
- After Click on the result this will focus
on the topic in the map or will open Note in Notes menu;
- If have two or more
results from same topic (ex. in topic name and in note text) then both will be shown
like two results;
- If have results in other map than opened then this map will
be opened and focused topic.
Spelling
Don't make spelling mistakes! Check your writing to make sure it's correct. When
you click on the "Spelling" button from menu, the words in topics are spellchecked.
If there are wrongly written words, they are underlined and on right-click on word,
a spelling pop-up window appears giving suggestion(s) for the misspelled word.
Remove
By clicking on "Remove" button, you can delete topics, topic elements and
remove formating. Every topic can be removed except the Central Topic. If a topic
which has subtopics is selected for removing, all its child topics are also removed.
If the selected topic has a parent topic, the "Detach topic" option is active meaning
that by clicking on it, the selected topic with all his subtopics will be detached
from the parent topic and it will be shown as Floating topic.
Map Parts
This section allows you to save part of a map you've created for easy re-use. By
selecting the desired topic and clicking on the "Add Selected Topic(s)" in the right
panel, you can add that part of the map to the Library.
To reuse the added map part, you need to select the topic to which you want to add
that part and with right click on the map part you have a variety of options: "Insert
as New topic"; "Modify"; "Delete" and "Rename".
The "Insert as New Topic" will add the map part to the selected topic right away.
With the "Modify" option you can make changes to the map part before you add it
to the selected topic.
The "Rename" option allows you to insert a name to the whole map part. The map part
name is "Map Part(n)" by default.
With the "Delete" option you can remove the map part from the galery.
Topics Group
Choose your desired topic shape or import your own shapes. Decide on the placement
of icons and images inside the topics.
Topic Shape
Start with choosing the desired topic shape.By clicking on the "Topic Shape"
a drop-down list appears with the available topic shapes. Callout topics have different
shapes than normal topics.
By clicking on "Shape from Library", the shapes library appears as right menu from
where you can choose a topic shape to be applied to the selected topic.
By clicking on the "Format Topic" option from drop-down menu, a pop-up window appears
allowing you to change different topic parameters.
Import Shape
You can also import your own shapes to enrich your maps visually. By clicking on
"Import Shape" button from menu, and from "Add Shape" link in the right menu,
a pop-up box appears asking you to choose the destination from where the topic shape
shall be uploaded. The supported file type is .svg.
Icon and Image placement
Decide on the icon and image placement that best fits your topic view. By default,
icons and images will be placed before the text in topics. By clicking on the appropriate
button from menu, you can place them under, above, before or after the text.
Objects Group
Choose your desired shape and line for mind map relationships and boundaries.
Relationship Shape
You can select different relationship shapes to arrange your map visually.You can
change relationship's begin and end style by choosing from the available options
in the drop-down menu when "Relationship Shape" is clicked.
Boundary Shape
Change the boundary shape to best fit within your map design. Choose from the available
options in the "Boundary Shape" drop-down menu. By clicking on the "Format
Boundary" option from drop-down menu, a pop-up window appears allowing you to change
the boundary format.
Line
Line refers to the line of the relationships and boundaries. You can change relationships'
and boundaries' line style and weight by choosing from the available options in the
drop-down menu when "Line" is clicked.
Numbering
The "Numbering" option in the "Layout" section allows you to number the map topics.
Here you can choose the numbering type, numbering options and you can remove numbering.
The numbering will start from the upper right topic and continue clock-wise. When
new topic is added it is automatically numbered. If you want to re-order topics,
they will change the numbering accordingly.
By clicking on 'Numbering Options' you can choose the numbering scheme as well as
the numbering depth. Afterwards, you can choose to apply or abort preferences, or
remove numbering.
Background Group
Choose your background colour as you wish and apply a pattern
from the pattern library for a more appealing and creative look. Moreover, by clicking
on the "Format Background" button, a pop-up window appears allowing you to
change the background format.
Map Styles
Decorate your mind map by choosing your preferred style template and make your map
colourful and stylish with just one click. By clicking on "Map Styles" button
from menu, a pop-up window appears showing all the available styles you can choose
from. You can change the style of an already created map, or a completely new map.
Moreover, you can change the color of the whole map by choosing a color to apply
to the whole map from the list. From "Map Color" drop-down menu you will
be able to choose from predefined colors which will be applied on the whole map.
Topic Style
This option allows you to save your preffered topic style in the library for easy
re-use. The saved topic style can be applied to each topic with only a click. That
includes the topic font, shape and color, alignment, size and margins, and subtopics
layout.
To apply saved topic style to other topic, first select the topic you want to change,
and then click the preferred topic style. Saved topic styles name is "Topic Style
(n)" by default, but by clicking on the "Rename" option you can changed that name
with your own one. You can also remove the saved topic styles if you do not want
to keep them in your library.
Map Color
You can change the color of the whole map by choosing a color to apply to the whole
map from the list. The color is applied by the following rule: central topic has
the blue color (always), level one has darker color, level 2 lighter and level 3
the lightest (the other levels have the level 3 color) depending on the map color
chosen from the menu. From drop-down menu you will be able to choose from predefined
colors which will be applied on the whole map.
Outline
When you click on the "Outline" button in the View tab, a new vertical window
will open in the right section of the map. The central topic is the title of the
outline, starting from the upper right corner and going clock-wise, the main topics
are heading 1 and so on. Floating topics are written at the end of the outline,
as heading 1. The callout topics, are shown one level below the topic where they
are callout topics. You can edit the names of the topics in the outline window by
double clicking on them. The changes are automatically shown on the map, and vice
versa, all map changes are shown in the outline window. One click selects the row.
Detail Group
Details
When you click on the "Details" button you will be able to choose the level
of the detail on the map. Level 1 will present only the central topic and the main
topics, all the other child topics and sub-topics will be collapsed. You can choose
to see level 3 and you can again expand all levels of the topics by clicking on
the All levels option from the menu. The detail level depends on what topic or subtopic
is selected.
Expand/Collapse
Moreover, on a button click from menu, only the selected topic shall be shown when
it is collapsed and all its subtopics are shown when it is expanded.
Select Branch
You are just one click away from selecting the whole branch of the current topic.
Instead of selecting topics one by oneor using a mouse, you can select the whole
topic branchwith a single click.
Map Group
Balance Map
You can easily align the map symmetrically by clicking on the "Balance" button.
The topics will be equally distributed on the left and the right side of the main
topic.
Focus on Topic
"Focus" means to display the currently selected topic on the screen. By a
menu button click, the selected topic will be shown on the screen.
Center Map
By clicking on this button, the Central Topic (and whole map appropriately) is automatically
placed in the center of the screen. This is applied to the central topic, nevertheless
which topic of the map is selected.
Filter Group
Filter
The "Filter" option allows you to view only a subset of the topics on a map, the
topics that are of interest in a certain point of time.
By selecting the desired topic, you can choose to show or to hide only that topic
with its subtopics.
The "Advanced Filter" option allows you to show topics that contain Hyperlinks,
Notes, Alerts, Attachments, Icons, and Tasks.
When you click "Filter" button, within this window, there are two options showing
up: "Show matching Topics", meaning that only topics that contain selected attribute(s)
will be visible on the map; and "Hide matching Topics" meaning that only topics
that contain selected attribute(s) will be hidden from the map.
To close this box without any change applied, click "Cancel". To remove any filter
activated on the map, click "Remove Filter" button.
Show Branch Alone/Show All Branches
By clicking on the "Show Branch Alone" option when a topic is select, the
selected topic and all his sub-topics are the only one shown on the map. By clicking
on the "Show all Branches" option the view is returned to normal and all
branches are shown on the map again.
Zoom In/ Zoom Out
You can access zoom options from "View" tab form menu and from slider found in the
footer. Whole map can be zoomed by sliding the zoom level on the zoom slide bar.
By clicking on the button from zoom slider or by clicking the appropriate buttons
from menu, you can appropriately zoom in or out the map.
Fit Map
By clicking on this button from menu, whole map shall be shown on the screen. The
map is accordingly zoomed in or out to be fitted on the screen.
Presentation
Present different parts of your maps with minimum distraction. Generate separate
slides of different topics by taking snapshots from a particular topic and showcasing
them in a slideshow. At the end, you can export presentation slides as image list
in .zip.
Create Presentation
Take Snapshot
By clicking on the "Take Snapshot" button, a snapshot of the selected topic
and all his sub-topics will be taken and shown in the Presentation slides window.
Generate Snapshots
This option enables the automatic generation of snapshots. Snapshots from every
topic will be taken and shown in the Presentation slides window. By clicking on
this button you will get presentation slides from the map by the following logic:
1. First slide: Image of Central topic with all level 1 topics collapsed;
2. Continue with slides with level 1 node (the upper right node from right sphere)
and all its children. If level 2 node (of the same branch) exists and has its child
nodes, it is shown in next slide with its children. The slides are generated until
there is a sub-node with at least one child. First the upper sub-nodes are shown
until the end, then those that are down.
3. The circle goes clock-wise with each level 1 node and its branch;
4. If there are floating topics, they are shown alone on separate slides after these
slides. They always came at the end; The last slide gives a picture of the whole
map (multiple maps) expanded and floating topics.
Slideshow
By clicking on the "Play" button, a full screen appears, showing a slide
show from the presentation slides. A button in the right side appears for "Next
Slide" and on the left side for "Previous Slide". To exit the slide show, you should
press "Esc". When you go at the top of each slide, a 'hidden' menu is appears with
"Close" button to close the slide show, and "Show/Hide Notes" button to show or
hide the notes. The option to view presentation with notes refers to show the notes
of the main topic on the slide.
Manage Presentation
Show Map
When you click on the "Show map" button you will exit from the slide preview.
When you click on a snapshot in the "Presentation slides" window a preview of the
select slide will be shown on the place of the map. The "Show map" button returns
you to the map.
Export Presentation
When you click on the "Export button all the snapshots will be exported in
a zip archive (each slide will be exported as image in the archive) . A pop-up window
will appear asking you to choose the location where the archive will be saved.
